Ella (ඇල්ල, Tamil: எல்ல) is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province, Sri Lanka governed by an Urban Council. Ella is a small backpacker-hub on the southern edge of Sri Lanka's Hill Country. It is approximately 200 kilometers (120 mi) east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 meters (3,415 ft) above sea level. You can reach Ella by the following transport option
By rail: Ella is close to Badulla and at the end of the railway line that goes through this small hilly town. Usually, trains that go to Kandy and Colombo begin from here.
